The typical anchor distance "A" for a guyed tower is normally
taken as 80% of the tower height. However, depending on
property limitations, towers can be designed for reduced
anchor distance of as much as 35%. Tower costs may increase,
as anchor distance is reduced due to higher stresses which
require larger members and/or guys.
When dealing with irregular property configurations, it is
best to forward a plot plan for evaluation.
The following formula may be used to determine the approximate
plot size.
L = 1.75 (A) + 30 feet
W = 1.5 (A) + 30 feet
A = Anchor Distance
1 Acre = 43,560 sq. ft.
